SOBRE LAS OBRAS DE ADONIS TOLEDO TORRES
 - Yurien Lopez Reyes, 2016

- Leif Walther 2016

In his paintings, Adonis Toledo Torres manages to capture the essence of Cuban architecture as a genuine expression of the Cuban people. The almost ethereal mobility of its balconies seems to blur with shadows to capture, through discrete stained-glass windows, the subtlety of light.

His ork pays reverence to the deepest human emotions, his itinerant cities expressing the desire of many Cubans to emigrate; placing Havana in a floating chamber he brings together buildings and compact forms, with subtle suggestions of feminine beauty in light touches of color.

An expression of the Adonis' keen interest in urban architecture and high esteem for the captivating Cuban capital, the sense of  "being" is materialized and takes shape in the facade of Old Havana.  At the same time, the artist's desire to capture the impact of light on its walls and its effect on the entire landscape is fully on display.

Reflecting the changing nature of "things" through the movement of immeasurable waves bathing the Havana Malecón, there is a clear intention to define the human component as protagonist in Cuba and to remind us of the existence of spirit in all materialized forms.
